Conflict Paragraph Example

In the novel “Holes” the author includes many conflict types. The main character, Stanley Yelnats, faces a Man vs. Society conflict when he is found guilty of a crime that he did not commit. One day, Stanley was walking home after a bad day at school and shoes fell out of the sky onto his head. They happened to be famous sneakers, which were stolen. After Stanley was caught with the sneakers, he was found guilty in court. Stanley tried to tell the truth, but no one believed his story and he was sent to Camp Green Lake as punishment. Because he was accused of and punished for a crime he did not commit, Stanley is experiencing a man vs. society conflict.
